Band 3 £24,071 - £25,674 Per annum

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week working 5 days out of 7 Monday to Sunday working on a Rotational basis.

We care for patients and care for our staff, if you would like to be part of a fast-paced busy in-house restaurant team then this is a good position for you.

Our restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and evening meals to staff visitors and patients, as our Chef you will play a vital role in ensuring our strict standards of food hygiene are met and completed daily.

You will work with a passionate chef team cooking from scratch with high standards and a passion for food. The team is led by a Head chef and a Catering Manager with Michelin starred food background.

To carry out the preparation and cooking of meals for patients and staff, ensuring that high standards of quality and food safety are maintained at all times.



Post holders will ensure a high standard of service delivery in relation to catering service functions. Post holders will be required to work with high regard to food safety legislation and in accordance with the departments HACCP procedures.



Post holder should be compliant with budgets and nutrition standards and to ensure good quality food for patients’ staff and visitors.

• Organise and plan own work according to work schedules and rota
• Prepare and cook food according to planned menu, using standard recipes at the prescribed times, including the provision of special diets
• Exercise portion control following recipes guidelines achieving correct nutritional value
• Prepare food for patients when required. Work with the catering team Mangers to assist in any referral of special diets from Dietetic department
• Assist in ordering of kitchen supplies in liaison with the store’s Manager and Head chef
• Assist in the preparation, weighing, portioning of all food
• The employee is expected to be familiar and trained with the relevant hygiene and safety legislation relating to kitchen areas and attend relevant refresher training arranged by the department
