About the role
We are seeking a Business Gateway Officer to be the first point of contact for incoming business enquiries. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting business-to-business (B2B) activity and helping us connect with organisations across various industries.
As a Business Gateway Officer, you will be a pivotal member of our team, ensuring that all business enquiries are handled professionally and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and recording business enquiries to ensure a timely and appropriate response.
Conducting first-level diagnostic conversations with businesses to identify needs and match them with University products or services.
Supporting the Business Development teams by identifying potential opportunities and corporate learning contacts.
Building strong relationships with businesses and ensuring excellent customer service through various communication channels.
Maintaining accurate records in our CRM system and reporting on enquiry centre performance.
Executing outbound sales calls as part of lead generation campaigns to support the University’s growth.
Participating in events and engaging businesses through open days, information sessions, and more.
This role offers you the chance to be a positive ambassador for the University and contribute to the ongoing development of our B2B services.
About You
We’re seeking an individual who is organised, results-oriented, and understands the importance of delivering a high standard of customer service. To be successful you will have:
A relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience in B2B enquiry handling and customer service or sales environments.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage confidently with businesses.
Strong communication skills, particularly over the phone, with the ability to listen, articulate, and advise.
A data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret simple data sets and report on performance.
A commercially minded approach with the ability to meet and exceed targets.
Proficiency in MS Office and experience using CRM systems.
A willingness to work flexibly, including attending events and traveling between sites when required.
