Summary

We have the exciting opportunity for a Community Development Worker to join our Community Mental Health Support Service (CMHSS)!
This is a full time, fixed-term role until July 2025 (with the possibility of extension)
This is a remote role however requires someone who lives in Newcastle upon Tyne / surrounding area.
About the job
As a Community Development Worker, you will support the Team Manger in identifying and acting as link between community assets and service delivery, organising and developing resources, support networks and public relations within and relating to the CMHSS.
You will support the Team Manger to maintain an overview of engagement and impact while seeking to maximise opportunities for partnership working, as well as supporting the Team Manger in ensuring the service works within the community as set by Everyturn.
Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain pathways between statutory and VCSE services to support the client journey.
Take a lead in developing, implementing, and maintaining an annual programme of ‘Six Weeks to Wellbeing’ for people with complex mental health and/or SMI to support improvements in wellbeing.
Alongside the team manager, build, develop, and maintain relationships with Primary Care Networks (PCNs), statutory and voluntary services, both mainstream and specialist, as a means of promoting work, education, and leisure opportunities for people with complex mental health issues or severe mental illness (SMI) to support and develop the service.
Undertake any reasonable duties/responsibilities to meet the needs of the organisation.

About you

Significant experience working in a health and social care setting.
Significant experience of partnership working across a wide range of statutory and VCSE organisations.
Significant experience of programme design, development, co-ordination, and facilitation, ensuring people with lived experience, people from excluded or marginalised groups and local communities are key partners in shaping and informing service delivery.
Significant experience of working with people that have either SMI or a complex health condition.
Significant experience of working to set targets/KPI’s for commissioned or statutory services.
Significant experience of working within health, social care, or VCS systems.
Understanding of challenges and barriers on accessing services.
Understanding of recovery in the context of mental health.
