Summary

Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Wathgill Camp in North Yorkshire.

As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.

We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant.

This is a Part Time role based on working 15 hours per week.

Shifts Run between: 07:00-23:30

Days of work: Monday & Friday

Contract: Permanent

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of training area operative are to ensure that the training estate facilities and ranges are fit for purpose and ensure compliance with customer requirements.

Preparing training areas for use

Preventative maintenance

Grounds maintenance

Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training will be provided)

Manufacturing and deploying targetry

Driving and operating fleet vehicles

Use of Warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights

Report and deal with unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate

Handover / take back of facilities and or ranges with service users

To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems

The Ideal Candidate

Must hold Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

Knowledge of Health and Safety such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Experience as a range/ training area user (not essential)

Excellent of communicating with customers

Basic labouring, caretaking skills

Ability to complete documentation

Basic IT skills
