Summary
Support Workers at Fern Leaf Carehome Limited provide support and assistance to adults with either physical / learning disabilities, Autism and / or mental illness in a residential or supported living accomodation.
The main duties include:
- Teaching life skills such as paying bills or using public transport
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide quality care
- Supporting and encouraging people to develop personal skills by pursuing their interests and hobbies
- Helping with health care needs, for example, by administering medication or performing routine checks
- Providing emotional support for an individual or their family
- Designing a unique support plan to help fulfil the client's needs
- Providing physical support which may include personal care, tending to a client's various health needs
- Helping with domestic duties, such as running errands, cooking, cleaning or shopping
- Assisting clients with recreational activities
- Report writing detailing daily interactions with the client and their progress
- Talking to clients, listening to them and understanding their concerns
