A leading insurance company is seeking a Legal Expenses Claims Handler to join their experienced and growing team in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in claims handling or legal expenses, looking to further their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and managing claims: Handle a diverse portfolio of claims related to indemnity coverage, including employment disputes, property issues, contractual disagreements, and fitness to practise investigations.
  • End-to-end claims handling: Manage the entire claims process from start to finish, ensuring efficient and fair resolution. You'll be responsible for gathering and reviewing relevant documentation, assessing liability and coverage, and making informed decisions on the course of action.
  • Liaising with professionals: Work closely with solicitors, barristers, insurance brokers, and policyholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the claims process.
  • Providing expert advice: Offer guidance and advice to policyholders on the progress and potential outcomes of their claims, helping them navigate complex legal matters.
  • Evaluating legal documents: Review and interpret legal documents, including contracts, settlement offers, and case law, to determine the validity of claims and make well-informed decisions on indemnity.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in claims handling, particularly in legal expenses or similar areas within the insurance industry.
  • A solid understanding of legal principles related to indemnity coverage, dispute resolution, and liability assessment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to evaluate legal documents, assess risks, and make sound decisions.
  • Experience working collaboratively with legal professionals, including solicitors and barristers.
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Legal training or a law degree
  • Prior experience handling legal expenses claims within an insurer or legal environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to the claims and legal expenses sector.
