Summary
Companion Role-Chorley
An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and compassionate person to act in the role of a Companion providing support to a young adult male to access social opportunities within the local community independently of his family.
As a Companion your duties will include keeping in touch with the client via text and phone calls to make arrangements with them to meet up and attend social venues, ensuring their safety in travelling to and from the venues via local transport, where appropriate.
We are looking for a fun, caring, patient, proactive and motivated individual with a passion for supporting others.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential, however a positive attitude and good work ethic is. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A driver with a full clean licence is desirable, but shared use of public transport with the client is also possible.
This is a part time position for 8-10 hours on per week, split into two sessions of 4-5 hours, dependent upon the social activities undertaken. The hourly rate of pay is £12 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave.
