Join our Atelier Nursery team as an Early Years Artist!
Atelier Nursery is an OUTSTANDING setting based in both Bath and Chippenham. Running since 2013 we have grown from strength to strength and have achieved back-to-back Outstanding Ofsted grading, previously being recognised as Nursery of the Year and being shortlisted for the Nursery World Awards this year!
A Resident Artist is an Early Years Educator/Practitioner with a background in arts. They will be responsible for working with children to introduce new concepts, sparking their curiosity and creativity and establishing a new explorative way of learning and will work closely with the Leadership Team to promote the philosophies of the nursery. The Resident Artist will take a lead in observing and documenting the learning processes that have been carried out by the children which are then shared with parents via our yearly exhibition!
We strive to offer high quality care and education, a curriculum that is led by our children, is open to explore all avenues of interest and creates awe and wonder when it comes to learning, because learning should always be fun!
When anyone join us at Atelier, they are invited to play and explore, to talk and question, to wonder and investigate, and to build the confidence to discover, create, and learn. Therefore it is a space that enable all minds to flourish!
The role:
• Working with children on creative experiences using a wide variety of media to encourage ideas, exploration and questions.
• Helping children express themselves in as many ways possible.
• Teaching new skills to staff and children.
• Being a “key person” for a group of children, ensuring that their care and developmental needs are being met.
• Producing display documentation, booklets and films on projects and learning experiences that happen in the nursery.
• Creating an aesthetic environment in the Studio and influencing the whole environment in the nursery
• Collecting images, books, interesting objects, intelligent materials for the nursery and sharing how to use them.

What’s next?
Applicants must have a level 3 (or higher) qualification in childcare, a genuine interest in working with and helping the development and education of young children. Experience is preferred, but we will consider applicants new to the sector.
