Summary

One 37 hour post is fixed term until 7 July 2025.There are several posts working for Hull City Council which will be based at Hull Church Housing Support and within West, East and North localities. They are a busy and highly motivated team and we are looking for someone with good verbal and written communication skills who is able to carry out intervention work and work positively with families and children in need. We are seeking a committed, flexible, people-centred support worker, delivering intense support and housing related support services to vulnerable families in Hull.
You will be required to work within the families homes which are located on a supported housing scheme and across the different localities. You will need experience of working with children and families and an awareness of the statutory responsibilities towards safeguarding children.
You will work as part of a team, enabling and supporting families that are vulnerable and in need of support. The team does provide a flexible approach to the support to children, young people and their families, enabling families to stay together and work through their difficulties. We offer and provide good supervision and support in a positive team environment.
You will need to demonstrate:
• Experience of supporting vulnerable children and families who may have a learning difficulty and are vulnerable• Confidence to deal with difficult situations• Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable people• Experience of liaising with other agencies and partners including statutory services and voluntary and community sector agencies in Hull• Creativity in meeting complex individual and community needs• Ability to work as part of a team• Reliability and ability to work flexibly.
