Our Minor works team are expanding and we have a number of openings for experienced repairs and maintenance Surveyors.



The area of work will predominantly be within the West This patch covers mainly Slough, Brent and Reading *



A large part of this role will involve carrying out internal and external inspections on both occupied and void properties, then providing technical advice to the team and managing complex projects including liaising with residents and contractors, and other third parties as necessary. The postholder will monitor quality of work, value for money and customer satisfaction.



Our Property Surveyors carry out detailed property inspections to all types of domestic properties across all contract areas, including routine and complex repairs issues, Damp & Mould surveys, and specify appropriate remedial works.



Candidates will have had extensive experience in producing work specifications and will be confident in providing costs and recommendations. You will also be able to produce condition reports. As well as a good understanding of construction and building methods gained by previous experience in a similar role. You will have a knowledge of contract and housing law and will have ideally worked for Housing Associations or Local Authorities



Customer Service is at the forefront of everything we do. Our Surveyors will aim to create a positive impact on our residents’ lives and will be passionate and act with determination to resolve resident complaints and issues.



You will be confident in handling complaints and Councillor and MP enquiries. This includes site visits related to Complaints, you will be responsible for seeing enquires through to resolution. You will also support the Disrepair team..



Candidates will be able to produce accurate reports, work orders and specifications using NHF SOR’s and other tools. Ensuring that works are referred to the correct area of the business for resolution.



You will have to manage budgets and play an active role in the variation approval process, having regard to standing orders, authorisation of expenditure and prevention of fraud. Experience in managing budgets is essential.



You will have experience in liaising with loss adjusters and overseeing different kinds of insurance work such as fire, flood damage and theft.



Health and safety awareness is vital in this role and we expect our Surveyors to be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and application of Health and Safety and compliance at all times.



You will be able to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and will have excellent communication skills. You will have had experience working with contractors and managing contracts.



Our Surveyors should ideally hold a HNC, HND or similar qualification please reference this in application.



Candidates will need to have a valid driving licence.


We are a multi-site organisation, so some roles may require occasional travel between offices, but expenses will be covered.
