Senior Staff Nurse Photopheresis and Skin Cancer Out Patients Department.
Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust delivers high quality cancer care and works as part of the King's Health Partners Cancer Centre and London Cancer Alliance to continually develop cancer services in South London.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced nurse with excellent communication and leadership skills to join the St John’s Institute of Dermatology Team.
Our Dermatology skin cancer unit comprises of the Photopheresis, skin cancer screening clinic. melanoma, lymphoma and general clinics and you will be expected to rotate between these units.Ability to perform venepuncture and cannulation and assess wounds is essential.
Our Extracorporeal Photopheresis ( ECP) department is a nurse led service. Photopheresis or ECP (Extracorporeal Photopheresis) is a form of apheresis and photodynamic therapy in which blood is treated with a photosensitizing agent treated with uvadex solution, exposed to ultraviolet light (UVA), and returned to the patient. All the necessary training will be provided. The role also consists of working with the outreach ECP Clinical nurse specialist team rotating to the Royal Marsden and Kings Hospital.

The successful applicant must demonstrate commitment, excellent leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills and be suited to the dynamic pace of this very busy service. It is essential to have a genuine interest and advanced knowledge of health promotion, early detection of disease and follow up process of pre and post diagnosis .
The successful applicants will be expected to deliver a high quality nursing service, providing specialist care and management to patients and their families throughout their diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. The ability to manage, lead, plan, organize and prioritise your work and be flexible in your approach is essential to this role.
It is essential to have a genuine interest in dermatology and skin cancer treatments and have post-grad experience. You will be expected to deliver a high quality nursing service, providing specialist care and management to patients and their families throughout their diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. The ability to prioritize your work and be flexible in your approach is essential to this role.
You should be a Registered Nurse with 3 years post registration experience of ward experience in an acute setting , have cannulation skills and experience of being a band 6 . You must be able to take part in structured teaching for patients, colleagues and students.

You should be a Registered Nurse with post registration experience in Dermatology and Photopheresis experience is desirable . You must be able to take part in structured teaching for patients, colleagues and students.
