Summary

Mechanical Design Engineering Manager

Industry: Manufacturing

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Days: Monday - Friday

Duration: Permanent

Duties:

Responsible for the overall management of the engineering operation, including planning, processes and strategic direction,
Advocating best practice to improve delivery of the function to time, cost, quality and specification,
Managing budgets and resources, contributing to business forecasts and KPIs,
Lead the Engineering team ensuring cohesive and collaborative work,
Drive product innovation and development, whilst ensuring stakeholder to subsystem requirements are met,
Support sales and marketing teams, maintain knowledge of market developments and product innovations.

Experience:

Must have a high level of experience in practical application of best practice mechanical design engineering including lead and change management, within a regulated, compliance driven industry,
Must be qualified to a minimum of HNC level in mechanical engineering and have knowledge of materials and steel milling manufacturing processes,
Must have strong level of computer literacy including mechanical and FEA CAD,
Must have clear leadership behaviours, strong communication and accountability skills, a results driven mindset and the ability to prioritise work within a pressurised environment to deadlines,
Previous experience of load cell and stain gauge technologies is a distinct advantage.
