Summary

Be first line support for the organisation on policies, processes including employee relations matters, ensuring that all advice is in line with relevant employment and related legislation, organisational policies and a consistent approach is taken. Lead on full support of: o health and sickness absence management casework including sickness absence monitoring meetings, informal and formal absence management processes, Occupational Health referrals and monitoring return to work plans. o Family friendly policy administration such as maternity and adoption leave, paternity leave, etc. Manage an ER caseload, advising and coaching managers in dealing with employee relations issues such as disciplinary, capability and grievance issues; this will include supporting investigating managers Escalate complex casework to People Partners and work with People Partners to execute effectively to completion. Deliver end-to-end support of the recruitment process, including sourcing of candidates, placing advertisements, liaising with Agencies, scheduling interviews with hiring managers, sifting and shortlisting, conducting telephone screening and face-to-face interviews where applicable. Update CONNECT to ensure candidates move through the recruitment lifecycle, including sending automated communication to successful and unsuccessful candidates Support recruiting managers to use the CONNECT system for recruitment campaigns Support Payroll Advisor and People Administrator, in their absence or at times of high volume, with payroll activities including payroll queries and liaising with the outsourced payroll provider, etc. Provide support to the People Administrator in their absence or at times of high volume, in all areas of their role, e.g., onboarding, offboarding, system updates, volunteer, honorary placement administration, etc, in particular for complex issues arising in these areas. Guide and coach managers to feel empowered to pro-actively address people challenges with early interventions. Conduct leaver interviews and review leaver questionnaires, analysing the feedback to identify themes, feeding back to the wider People Team and department leads to develop solutions to address issues as well as building on areas of good practice with a view to reducing turnover. Work collaboratively with other People Team colleagues to ensure policies, procedures and other guidelines are kept up-to-date and are fully implemented across the organisation, providing coaching and guidance on their implementation. Produce and update People Team trackers, as appropriate. Liaise with external providers, as required. e.g., Occupational Health, External Payroll Provider, etc. Collaborate across the organisation to contribute to projects and improvement initiatives, including induction, wellbeing, management development and equality, diversity and inclusion. Produce high quality reports on a range of People metrics to a range of internal and external stakeholders Be proactive in providing thoughts and ideas on how the provision of the People Team service to the organisation can be improved and evolved. Continuously improve knowledge and understanding of the organisation, employment law and HR best practice to enhance the value and quality of the People team service provided to the organisation. To act as a role model to ensure the positive performance culture and ethos of the organisation is demonstrated in all aspects of work.
