Summary

Groundforce is proud to introduce Groundforce Non-Mech, a fresh business unit focused on non-mechanical plant, operating from our Wigan depot. We’re looking for a Depot Foreman/Driver to lead our operations and help drive the success of this innovative venture.
You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers receive equipment that’s in perfect working order, managing depot processes, and making sure deliveries are made in a timely manner. This role offers the chance to contribute directly to the growth and success of Groundforce Non-Mech, working closely with our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day depot operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes with support from the General Manager and wider team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across Vp plc, specifically with Groundforce and other divisions.
  • Ensure high levels of service are consistently met for all customer orders and interactions.
  • Oversee depot hire and off-hire processes, depot safety, organisation, and kit maintenance.
  • Drive a 7.5T wagon to deliver and collect orders when required, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate equipment to customers and provide excellent service on-site and while driving the company vehicle.
  • Maintain legal and safety standards for vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and UK law.
  • Assist in developing the depot's performance and contribute to cost control and P&L management as the business grows.

What We're Looking For
  • Full UK driver’s licence and Class 2 HGV licence.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and eager to grow within the business.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage depot operations and keep accurate records.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable with technology, including PDAs, iPads, and tablets.
  • Forklift Truck licence would be advantageous.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and flexible, with great timekeeping and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
