Hours: 35 per week, 39 weeks of the year (term time only + INSET)

About the role Working alongside school leaders, you will take the operational lead in ensuring that students who experience difficulty in engaging with their learning are given the tools to achieve personal and academic success in school. This will involve taking a proactive lead in the transition of these students into school, the delivery of defined learning activities to support their successful integration and supporting both staff and parents in strategies which lead to successful outcomes. You will also carry out key screening activities with mobile students to ensure that we are delivering to the point of need. About you You will have an exceptional understanding of what the impact of social, emotional and mental health issues have upon aspects of learning and language development and students’ abilities to be able to access the curriculum. You will be someone who has the knowledge and understanding of a range of strategies and approaches to managing and helping children with social, emotional and mental health issues and has a good understanding of the principles of child development, learning processes and barriers to learning. You will need to be a strong communicator and be able to articulate and present comprehensive and detailed reports, notes and plans.
