Get a fast fix for your career as a Handy Person in Dublin! With Sodexo, operational excellence starts with you. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong carpentry skills, as well as experience in general maintenance and repair work.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform non-technical related maintenance and repairs on a wide range of assets.
  • Installation of hardware such as doors, door frames, shelving systems.
  • Repairing and refinishing furniture.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot Building Fabric issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with other team members and contractors as needed.
  • Always adhere to safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Planned Maintenance and repairs on a wide range of assets, including the installation of hardware, shelves, cabinets, and furniture.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate, performing necessary repairs or adjustments to prevent costly damages and maintain the integrity of the structure.
  • Liaising with the site Helpdesk to close out PPMs and Corrective works
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, including documentation of repairs, materials used, and any relevant information to facilitate future maintenance activities and ensure accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with company requirements and safety standards related to scope of work.
  • Makes decisions within parameters set by line Manager using job/specialist experience.
  • Produce reports that explain ongoing issues and faults.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, PPE in a good working condition.
  • Report to supervisor, keeping them informed of activity progress and highlight any problems

What you bring:

    • Proficiency in a wide range of non-technical Building Fabric techniques, including but not limited to installing, repairing, and replacing doors, door frames, hardware, shelves, cabinets, and furniture.
    • Ability to perform precise measurements and execute tasks with precision, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
    • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues accurately and develop effective solutions to address them efficiently.
    • Ability to read and write WO updates and task descriptions, enabling effective planning and execution of tasks. Compliance with safety and quality standards.
    • Clear communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and contractors effectively, ensuring understanding of project requirements and expectations.
    • Adaptability to work in various settings and conditions, including occasional evening or weekend shifts, to accommodate project schedules and deadlines.
    • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, ensuring efficient workflow and safety compliance.
      • Proven track record in similar role, preferably with at least 3 years’ experience
      • Collaborative, with the ability to work as part of an engaged and focused team.
      • Dedicated to meeting and exceeding the expectations of the department and client.
      • Exceptionally organized and able to handle high-pressure situations calmly.
      • Pursues everything with energy, drive and a need to finish.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends

Handyperson

  • Monday to Thursday 8am until 4:30pm and Friday 8am until 3:30pm
  • 39 hours per week
  • €21 per hour + Sodexo benefits
