Salary: Salary: £37,099 - £44,263 p.a. pro rata (Grade 7)

The School of Arts, Culture and Language is seeking to appoint a fixed-term, part-time (50% FTE) Lecturer to cover teaching and other associated professional duties. This role is funded by a fixed-term external research grant.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with particular emphasis on modules in research methods, morpho-syntax, language variation, use and change, corpus linguistics, and the history of English.

The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the administration of the School. Candidates should ideally have a PhD in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics (or be near completion), have experience of planning and delivering a range of teaching and assessment activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates will be expected to teach existing general modules as well supervise UG and PG dissertations. The successful candidates will join a dynamic, supportive, and friendly School with a strategy of building on its strength in teaching, research and scholarship.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence on 1st November 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter and the post is available until 31st January 2027.

This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
