Summary

Teacher of Science
M1 - UPS3: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum
Full time position
Starting January 2024
Castle Donington College is a small 11-16 school. We have 640 pupils on role across five-year groups (Years 7 to 11). The College is situated on the Northwest edge of Leicestershire on the Leicestershire, Derbyshire, and Nottinghamshire border and within 30 minutes’ drive of Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Loughborough and Burton, being close to the M1 and A50.
This is an opportunity for an ECT or an experienced teacher to join our Science team. We would welcome applications from teachers with specialisms in Biology, Physics or Chemistry. The successful candidate will be able to teach throughout Key Stage 3 and GCSE. In 2024 we will be opening our brand-new, purpose-built Science teaching building.
This is an exciting time to join Castle Donington College. In January 2019 we received an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’. We are very proud of our community and the pupils we serve. We chose to join the East Midlands Education Trust, a successful and thriving partnership of high achieving schools in January 2022. As a member of this partnership, we believe we will go from strength to strength in the next few years.
As a teacher of Science, you will provide excellent teaching of the subject and be a role model to students. You will be a qualified teacher and be fully up to date with curriculum developments. You will work closely with the Head of department on a process of continuous improvement, ensuring that the school continues to deliver even better outcomes for students.
On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.
Please email the school office at postroom@cdcollege.uk or call 01332 810528, if you would like to arrange a tour of the school prior to application and/or interview.
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process and this may include online searches.
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
The closing date for applications is 9AM on Wednesday 25th September 2024.
