Summary
Communication Report any concern regarding patient care Participate in any patient and public involvement activities Provide reassurance support to patients and carers/family Provide Health Promotion Advice to patients and families as appropriate. Participate in relevant departmental meetings and represent the department at Trust wide meetings when appropriate, disseminating information as appropriate.Responsibility for patient/client care Assist the Registered Nurse in the evaluation of care and completion of patient documentation. Involve patients and carers/relatives in the delivery of care. Work collaboratively with others in the department to ensure that patients needs are met. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations. Undertake escort of patients as directed by a registered nurse. Undertake extended skills/roles as designated by Emergency Department Manager Nurse/Practice Educator nurse. Assist the Registered Nurse and medical team in the management of major trauma and the care seriously ill child, including cardiac arrest situations 1. Responsibility for policy/service development Contribute to the development of services. Maintain health, safety and security and report any concern. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and clinical guidelines for self and others Responsibility for financial and physical resources Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources. Support the housekeeping team with duties when required. Responsibility for information resources Maintaining accurate record keeping, utilising information services i.e. Meditech and other systems. Responsibility for research and development To contribute and support departmental research.
