Summary

About the Role

Working in conjunction with the Lead Adviser for Attendance & Engagement, you will provide a professional, accessible welfare service to all Fife College students, focused principally on student attendance and attainment.

You will assist with any attendance concerns or issues that may arise, including financial concerns, funding issues, reduced engagement, on-going medical conditions, low attendance and withdrawals/exit Guidance advice.

Key Responsibilities
o Provide attendance advice to students.
o Monitor retention and attainment statistics for all our students, including urgent follow-ups for poor attendance.
o Liaise with Student Advisers: Guidance and key Academic staff on students identified as being at particular risk of disengagement / academic failure to explore possible intervention options.
o Using the Attendance Portal and action all attendance check ins to students as per the attendance procedure.

Qualifications and Experience
• Essential
o Educated to SCQF level 7 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
o Proven experience in a similar role.
o An understanding of barriers to learning and how these maybe overcome.

• Desirable
o Safeguarding training
o Experience of working and supporting Looked After and Accommodated young people within education.
o Experience of student attendance work within education setting.

• Excellent ICT skills, including data analysis using Excel (pivot tables)
• Positive attitude to Equality & Diversity
• Commitment to promoting the welfare of all our learners
