Summary

The role of HEO Data Control Stock (CS) Maintenance sits in the Contingent Operational Stock and Sustainability Assessment Cell (COSSAC) that is part of the Supply Chain Governance (SCG) area within Joint Support (JtSp).

Controlled Stocks (CS) are the resilience margin of critical stores, such as vehicle parts, that Defence holds in anticipation of surges in activity levels. The landscape pertaining to CS management has changed significantly over recent time: CS holdings are currently worth over £330M with further purchases in train. The control and management of CS liability has been centralised within the SCG COSSAC Team. SCG COSSAC Team provides four key functions:

Creation. Assisting as the interface between Army, Navy & Air Force and DE&S (Defence Equipment & Support agency) in the detailed translation of requirements into demand plans listed by NATO Stock Number (NSN) and Quantity.
Maintenance. Daily oversight of the management of CS including the focal point for any CS releases.
Reporting. Reporting on CS holdings, shortfalls and unfunded gaps in order to establish risk and advise on appropriate mitigations.
Usage. Support to the issue of CS as part of the wider Contingent Op Stock demand in response to an emerging demand.

The role would benefit from Supply Chain and inventory Management experience. Proficiency with MS Office is essential, particularly within EXCEL. Training in Defence Logistic Information systems (such as MJDI, BIWMS, SS3 etc) are distinct advantage, however on the job training courses will be provided to cover any knowledge gaps.

Please note: Remote working within this role is something that can be discussed at interview stages or with your future line manager if you are found successful.
