USW Learning Services

Learning Services comprises three distinctive professional departments, working together to realise an excellent and high-quality student and graduate experience: Careers & Employability Services, Library Services, and Student Development and Study Skills.

Library Services

USW Library Services offers a wide range of services and collections to support the teaching, learning and research activities of the University, with a strong focus on a positive student experience, a digital-first collection development approach and continuous service improvement and innovation.

You will join a friendly team of Faculty Librarians within Library Services based at Pontypridd. Travel to other campuses will be required.

As a Faculty Librarian you will be responsible for liaising with academic staff, students and researchers in the subject areas of Sport and Chiropractic. You will design and deliver information literacy skills teaching, manage and promote appropriate learning resources in all formats and provide high-quality information and advice services through virtual and face to face appointments.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and self- motivated librarian with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong understanding of the needs of library users and an interest in technological developments in libraries. You will have either a qualification in a library or information science discipline or equivalent experience in an academic library or information service. We also welcome applications from people who are currently working towards achieving a suitable qualification.

This is a 0.8 fte post covering maternity leave for a period of 6 months.

If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.
