Summary

An exciting Fundraising role leading our philanthropic and corporate fundraising efforts outside of Wales forging relationships with those with close connections to Wales, health and wellbeing or Tenovus Cancer Care’s aims, objectives as Wales’ leading cancer charity.

The Fundraiser job:
From your UK home-base you’ll be flying the flag for the charity outside of Wales. You’ll put on quality fundraising events and build strong relationships through our reputation and Welsh links making a difference when it comes to people with cancer.

Picture putting on fundraising events such as dinners and corporate sponsored events like golf or racing days. And, linking with London in Wales Week promoting networking opportunities with grant-givers, major donors, commercial, and corporate sources. Plus, you’ll help manage and set up our high value business network committees outside of Wales.

To be our Fundraiser with a flair you’ll be skilled in scoping business development opportunities; doing things like managing commercial relationships and events, pipeline building and being self-motivated in pushing past targets. Fundraising experience desired but not essential in comparison to your transferable skills.

In this Fundraising job you can expect to be doing things like:
Portfolio management and development of new and ongoing individual and corporate high net worth donors
Preparing client cultivation plans, delivering against five figure income targets and reporting and presenting on your work, delivery and performance
Interacting at high professional level with internal stakeholders such as our CEO, Leadership Team and our Trustees about your work
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to foster and support our one team working ethos to support your own work and develop other area’s work delivery
Promoting donor and prospective client engagement opportunities with our work at every opportunity and attend networking and inspirational events
Spotting an events management opportunity and project managing that through working with colleagues and volunteers
Using your natural leadership and people engagement skills to inspire, steward, and motivate potential supporters to join US or continue their journey with US and demonstrate our company values through the way you go about performing

You’ll need to be available to work 21 hours a week flexibly so days and hours can be built in and around our standard operating week as set out in our staff benefits. We’re really open to making the working week fit into your lifestyle around the nature and needs of this type of Fundraising role. There may need to be some travel to a city/location where you’re generating the income for example. Or some events you run may be in evenings or weekends.

Most of the job is done from home or where you fundraise outside of Wales and you’ll need to be UK based. Our Cardiff City Centre Head Office is always available to you too. Most Team meetings and day to day colleague work is handled remotely but we’d expect to see you in the office for things such as our quarterly team meetings.

We’d like your CV and a Covering Letter to demonstrate how you have done this type of Fundraiser role already and match the job essentials. We’re looking for skills to show us you’ve:
Experience in working among high net worth and corporate donor circles to build and foster effective and sustained working relationships
The ability to display second to none donor care and customer service to a prestigious level
Experience at scoping viable business opportunities and maintaining an income pipeline that demonstrates viable growth
The experience and knowledge to raise funds and handle the events management side of things
The ability to capture and present your work, solutions and ideas to your colleagues and key internal stakeholders verbally and through reports and presentations and be open to others’ ideas and feedback
The tenacity, self-motivation and drive to perform in a remote role and work on your initiative whilst being mindful of the wider part you play in a team and seeing the bigger picture
