Summary
This opportunity is open to qualified Nursing Associates from both Mental Health and Hospital Trusts (Acute Trusts) who are interested in becoming registered mental health nurses (RMN). Previous mental health-based experience isnot essential for the role. Main duties of the role include shift coordination, medication management, nasogastric (NG) feeding, physical health monitoring, risk management, care planning, one to one and group work, CPA process and Mental Health Act use. The Transfer to Nursing programme is a full-time apprenticeship and you must be prepared to be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week. We welcome applications for those who already work bank shifts within our organisation but who must be willing to move onto contracted hours of 30 37.5 hours a week in a permanent role. The programme is structured so that you will experience a wide variety of clinical placements across the breadth of health and social care sectors in different organisations with the aim of giving you the widest exposure to healthcare. Throughout the 2-year programme there is 18 weeks of spoke placements you will be required to do in other service areas. As well as have assessed practice based learning in your hub team. The course comprises of academic learning, practice placements and learning at work. You will be expected to attend study days or block weeks (dependant on which University you are allocated to study at) and undertake Protected Learning Time in the team which you will be based in. This ensures you meet the 2300 total learning hours required to complete the Undergraduate Degree at level 6. On successful completion of the programme you will register with the Nursing Midwifery Council.
