The Role:
As a COBOL Developer, you will play a vital role in our software development activities. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, and unit testing for new and existing systems.
- Supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our existing COBOL based applications, including bug fixes.
- Actively participating in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, user story capture, and process/standards definition.
- Ensuring high quality, maintainable, and easily testable code that meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a COBOL software developer.
- Strong knowledge of AcuCOBOL and MF COBOL, with a deep understanding of COBOL transactions.
- Experience working in the wholesale/distribution business domain.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles, ideally with exposure to Lean/Agile practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and exposure to object oriented design methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Qualifications:
- Degree or HND in a computer science-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
