Are you anexperiencedBand 5 who is looking to progress to a Band 6 OT position? Or are you a Band 6 OT who would like to develop their clinical skills in Adult Acute Inpatient Mental Health and their leadership and managerial skills? If yes, then this is the job for you! This development opportunity will include the post holder successfully completing their probationary period, supervision training, practice educator training and advanced preceptorship as markers for development and this progression will be expected to last for up to 9-months dependent on performance and successful completion of the above criteria. The post holder will need post-qualification experience as a Band 5.

***This job is a development post so the salary will start as a B5 and once above criteria is met will progress to B6 salary.***
• The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and independently manage a varied and complex caseload on the acute inpatient mental health wards in the Enfield Mental Health.
• The post holder will provide a variety of specialised Occupational Therapy Assessments and interventions, promoting a recovery approach and social inclusion on the wards, community settings and home visits as appropriate to support safe discharge of service users.
• The post holder will work with other AHP staff in the team to provide a comprehensive therapy programme for service users across the three acute wards.
• The post holder will provide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisal. There is also expectation of acting as placement educator for student practitioners. They will ensure that their practice meets the requirements of this clinical group and will contribute to clinical evaluation and promote the use of evidence-based practice to inform service improvement.
• The post holder will be managed by the Lead Occupational Therapist. Although staff are allocated initially to work on one specific ward, the post holder is also expected to cover other wards when necessary.

The partnership betweenBarnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
