Summary

The SEND Interim Home Tuition Service are seeking to recruit two Learning Mentors to join the team. These roles will be on a term time only basis. Both positions are for a one year fixed term contract.

About the Role

Learning Mentors work with home tuition staff and other agencies to provide additional support to children who need help to overcome barriers to learning.

The SEND Interim Home Tuition Team provides education for children and young people for a number of reasons including those who do not currently have a school place due to them having recently moved into Lincolnshire or those who are awaiting placement at an appropriate education provision, including specialist settings.

Both these positions are for a one year fixed term contract, which may be extended or become permanent in the future.

Secondments may be considered for internal applicants, employees applying for secondments should notify their line manager.

About You

The role of the Learning Mentor is to build positive relationships with children and young people who are open to the Interim Home Tuition Service to support them to be able to access appropriate educational pathways. The post holder will be expected to work in partnership with the Interim Home Tuition team to implement and monitor an action plan for each child/young person who needs Learning Mentor Support.

The post holder will be expected to have GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English, have 2 years' relevant experience and have an accurate understanding of the education system.
