Based at Central Middlesex Hospital in Brent, the elective orthopaedic centre will see over 4,000 Londoners a year for routine bone and joint surgery.

The North West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre is an exciting collaboration between the four acute healthcare providers in north west London.

The north west London acute provider collaborative is made of up of TeamLNWH, Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial Collage Healthcare NHS Trust, and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, dynamic, motivated Band 5 nurses to join our busy day surgery and Theatre Admission unit as part of the highly skilled, specialist team of healthcare professionals to care for our patients. You will be support by the Ward Manager and the Matron in the nurse led unit

To support the sister/charge nurse in providing a unified approach to high standards of patient care within day surgery setting.

To support an environment that promotes excellence in nursing practice and empowers staff to develop high levels of clinical skills and autonomy.

Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families and promote on the day of surgery discharge.

Band 5 will be responsible for providing general nursing care to patients using ACAD Day Surgery Unit

In accordance with the concept of patient focused care this job is multi-skilled to provide a seamless service throughout all procedures encompassing theatre admission, day care and discharge.

The service will be working six days per week and to meet the needs of the Trust`s services you may also be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal practice place of work

• To participate in the assessment of care needs for individuals and groups of patients and the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of programmes of care to address those needs.
• To provide skilled care to meet the identified needs of patients and their relatives.
• To implement appropriate clinical practices based upon evidence acquired through clinical update and in line with accepted the policies of the hospital.
• To participate in clinical procedures as required within the Day Surgery Unit and critical care environment as required and as appropriate.
