Summary


You will join Camden Mental Health Support Team (MHST), which is an early intervention service that provides support to children, families and schools through advice and sign posting, delivering brief evidence-based interventions as well as helping to develop and implement whole school approaches to mental health. The MHST is part of the Camden CAMHS, which delivers high quality care to the local population of 0-18 years olds.

Your role will include MHST assessments, Individual Therapy, Group Work, Webinars/Workshops and Whole School delivery of health promotion and various emotional and mental wellbeing projects.

Camden MHST is a well-established, highly regarded innovative team. We have a stable staff group that is cohesive, collaborative and supportive. We currently have over 20 staff within our multi-disciplinary team.

We are constantly striving to better serve our local community so there will be many opportunities to be engaged in service development projects, including advocating for student voice, contributing to the coproduction of workshops and engaging in equality and diversity initiatives.

This will be a community-based post, with the majority of direct work taking place in school settings or other community settings. The post holder must be able to work collaboratively with other team members, staff from other teams as well as with our allied education, health and social care partners.

Provide MHST assessment to CYP allocated to your caseload.

Liaise with Schools/GP’s/Local Authorities and wider CAMHS Teams as required.

Work with your Clinical Supervisor and MHST Managers.

Encourage CYP Participation and Student Voice with service users.

Delivering time limited interventions and treatments.

Signposting to the cross sector stakeholders.

Attend regular MHST meetings or CAMHS multidisciplinary meetings where required.

Formulation of MHST care plans for service user (in collaboration with Clinical Supervisor where appropriate).

Communications and completed correspondence.

Engage with the internal and external network as appropriate.

Participate in Multi Disciplinary Team activities.

Risk assessment and risk management within remit of School Practitioner role.

Safeguarding responsibilities (escalating to Supervisor or MHST Manager when needed).

Make referrals as appropriate to other providers.

Responsible for timely and accurate clinical record keeping.

Responsible for the outcome of appointments.

Report writing and GP letter writing.

To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner.

To keep up to date with knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues of relevance to the service and client group.

To undertake any such other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade of the post as agreed by the Team Manager.

Attendance at Team Meetings.

Autonomous working.
