Summary
Neway is looking for an Employment Solicitor to join our client based with Thurrock Council.
This role is starting asap, working 18.5 hours a week, in an ongoing contract.
Key service accountabilities:
1. To specialise in Employment Law
2. To be the Council’s sole in house employment law resource and to participate in the provision of a comprehensive legal service to the Council and other client departments as may be required.
3. To deal with all work efficiently and cost effectively; achieving the purposes of the customer in each case.
4. To provide advice and legal expertise in relation to the specialist area including where relevant
5. To undertake advocacy, where applicable on behalf of the Council.
6. To advise on routine Local Government issues, complex matters and other legal developments relevant to the service.
7. To advise Officers of the Council and Members in writing and orally.
8. To attend and participate at meetings, Panels, Committees and Working Parties.
9. To manage the available resources effectively and efficiently.
10. To maintain awareness of and commitment to the Council’s Equal Opportunity Policies in relation to both employment and service delivery.
