The departments and research centres within ABS work together to further our understanding of key business disciplines and issues, with a focus on innovation and impact. In the latest Research Excellence Framework, 77% of our research outputs were rated world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*)

As a growing department we offer a friendly, supportive and vibrant community of scholars embedded in a world-leading business faculty.

We offer accounting degrees at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and also deliver accounting modules across a wide range of business and management programmes including a new accounting specialist degree apprenticeship launching in 2024/25. We have ambitious expansion plans and are now seeking to recruit a Lecturer to support these plans by providing additional teaching, research and enterprise expertise in any area of accounting.

An ability to contribute to the teaching and research of accounting is essential. We value highly the use of innovative approaches to teaching, particularly the integration of cutting-edge technology and pedagogical methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. You will have a track record of, or potential for, excellent research (appropriate to career stage) and a well-developed plan of research that covers the remaining period of the REF cycle and beyond. A research bias as either a qualitative or quantitative researcher is acceptable for this post. You must also be committed to excellent teaching and outstanding student support. A PhD in Accounting or equivalent, and relevant professional and/or academic experience is essential.
