Summary

Hylands Estate is a Grade II* listed property and modern Grand Pavilion set in 574 acres of landscaped parkland just outside Chelmsford. The House, Grand Pavilion and Stables hosts weddings, corporate functions, events, and private celebrations throughout the year as well as being part of the Hylands visitor attraction for the public. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Events Duty Manager with experience of managing large and multiple events in a busy venue to join our Operations and Visitor Experience team.

The ideal candidate for this position must have experience in a similar supervisory/management role. They will be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service, must be standards driven and detail-orientated with the ability to organise and plan ahead and have the ability to lead, multi-task, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage the day to day running of events at Hylands House & Grand Pavilion, motivating and co-ordinating front line staff and contractors to provide an excellent service to visitors, and ensuring the safety of the building and the people in it. Duties will include being a primary keyholder, supervising a team of Event Assistants, setting up the house for activities, serving refreshments, cleaning, completing and maintaining accurate records, managing the licensed bars during functions, and dealing with customer queries.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, customer care and organisational skills. You will be required to be available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You will be part of a passionate events team that delivers an excellent customer experience in this varied and rewarding role.

Please note that Hylands Estate is not on a regular public transport route and there will be late evenings/early morning work required.
