Summary


We are seeking to recruit a motivated individual to the role of Deputy Ward Sister / Deputy Charge Nurse on Brightlingsea Ward to cover maternity leave until 4th May 2025 at part time 30 hours per week.

The ward is a 30 bedded emergency surgical ward which specialises in colorectal and upper GI, urology and ENT admissions. You will support the unit sister in leading and developing the wonderful nursing team in this department and promote multi-disciplinary working to assist in the delivery of a patient-centred, clinically effect and dynamic service from the patient's admission assessment to discharge. This role requires commitment to providing a quality service and a supportive teaching environment.

For this post, it is desirable for you to have surgical experience.

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only.

In this role you will effectively manage and develop a nursing team and provide professional and clinical leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care to patients and their families.

You will provide inspirational leadership to the department, be positively welcoming, effective and act as a credible role model. You should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well-organised and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. You will have well-developed communication and change management skills and share in our vision and commitment to continuously develop and improve.
