The Senior Salon Assistant is an incredible opportunity within our Creative services team. Our Kilmarnock Campus provides stunning new facilities including our YOU salon. The salon is open to the public and provides our students with the opportunity to work in a real business environment.
We are looking for creative individuals to support our Curriculum Quality Managers and lecturing teams in the delivery of first-class salon services within the College’s learning and teaching environment. Successful candidates will be educated to HNC level or equivalent, within a subject area relevant to the role, and have equivalent work experience. Comprehensive experience of working within a beauty therapy service function, with knowledge of salon management is also essential for the role.
The role will involve the supervision of the day-to-day work and activities of the work placements and apprentices, to ensure that the salon is adequately resourced, and students supervised and mentored through their development. The role will also involve supporting the marketing, PR and promotional activities for the salon to customers and local communities, to develop the commercial focus of the salon.
