Summary


Full Time: 37.5 hours pw (12-month maternity leave cover)

Part time: 22.5 hours pw (substantive)

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacists to join our team, working alongside the Microbiology Consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the work currently undertaken with respect to antimicrobial stewardship within the Trust andensure that antimicrobials are also used safely and effectively within our establishedOutpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service.

Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Pharmacy Department provides a high quality, professional pharmacy service and has an excellent reputation within the Trust. Both the Pharmacy Department and the Trust have a long standing reputation for being a friendly and rewarding place to work.

Key roles will include:

Regular attendance at antimicrobial ward rounds with the microbiology consultants

Providing specialist clinical input into the Trust OPAT service and contribute to weekly MDT meetings

Working towards the Trust’s antimicrobial stewardship strategy

In conjunction with the rest of the OPAT team, ensuring that patients on OPATreceive appropriate monitoring and follow-up, auditing outcomes.

Undertake audits for antimicrobials and antifungals including CQUINs inconjunction with the microbiology consultants

Training multi-disciplinary team members in the appropriate use of antimicrobials.

This post would suit experienced Pharmacists with excellent clinical knowledge, good communication skills and experience in antimicrobials.

To support 7 day working you will be expected to participate in the on-call, weekend, Bank Holiday and late duty rotas.
