Summary

Commercial Business Partner

The Commercial Business Partner will provide essential financial and commercial support, focusing on gross margin analysis, pricing strategy, and product & sales channel performance reporting. Reporting to the Head of FP&A, this role will involve close collaboration with the Commercial Director and other key stakeholders, ensuring that business decisions are data-driven and aligned with financial goals. Act as a trusted advisor, providing expertise in pricing and financial analysis to drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

· Gross Margin Reporting and Analysis; lead the regular reporting and insight of end to end Gross Margin performance, identifying trends and providing actionable insights across range, pricing, cost and waste.

· Conduct in-depth analysis of Food & Beverage (F&B) costs, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of these costs. Ensuring cost trends, inc are identified to allow for cost modifications where necessary.

· Menu Pricing: develop and maintain financial models to support strategic menu pricing decisions, particularly for new menu launches and set menus across the estate and site specific where necessary.

· New Menu Performance; provide detailed reporting and analysis on new menu performance, offering insights into variances and areas for improvement.

· Provide comprehensive pricing analysis to ensure competitive and profitable menu offerings.

· Brand Promotion Analysis and Reporting, analyse the sales performance and profitability of brand promotions, delivering detailed reports to inform marketing and sales strategies.

· Partnership Sales & Profitability Reporting, track and report on partnership sales, providing analysis on profitability and recommending areas for improvement.

· Commercial Support, provide financial and commercial analysis to the Commercial Director as needed, acting as a key finance business partner in decision-making.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse pricing strategies, product profitability, and customer profitability. Evaluate business opportunities, partnerships, and customer contracts to assess their financial viability and alignment with strategic objectives. Support decision-making processes by providing financial insights, business case analysis, and risk assessments.

· Daily Sales by Channel reporting own the daily sales reporting process by channel, ensuring accurate and timely data for decision-making

· Customer Spend Metrics; manage and report on key customer spend metrics such as ASP (Average Selling Price), DPC (Drinks Per Cover), CPC (Courses per Cover), and SPC (Spend Per Cover).

· Discount Reporting; oversee the reporting and analysis of discounts, identifying trends and opportunities for optimisation.

Experience and Technical Skills:

· Proven experience in pricing, financial analysis, business partnering, or related roles within a fast-paced commercial environment is essential.

· Prior experience in a multi-site hospitality business is highly desirable.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

· Proficiency in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case evaluation.

· Advanced Excel skills are essential; knowledge of Power BI is desirable.

· Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align financial objectives with broader business goals.
