Summary
We are looking for an IT Operations Technician who will support the day-to-day running of IT systems and networks including the preparation of back-up systems and performing regular checks to ensure the smooth functioning of our systems. They are a key figure of the IT helpdesk, providing technical support, advice and guidance for IT users. They are responsible for the successful resolution of IT requests, offering support and local level monitoring and maintenance of IT functions in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with the internal policies and procedures. They will work in collaboration with the IT Manager to evaluate the effectiveness of existing systems. They will support the IT team with the overall network security and protect the organization from cyber-attacks, as well as monitoring internet activities of individuals on our network and escalating anyone accessing any content that is against the prevent strategy. They are paramount in ensuring our system and confidential information remains secure.
They would be required to work fulltime (37.5 hours a week)
Annual salary will be £39,000 Per Annum
Skills and experience required
• Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a relevant position
• Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Outstanding organisational and time-management skills
• In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
• Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
• Safeguarding Knowledge is desirable but training will be given
Minimum 2 Years experience in a similar role
Qualifications Required:
Minimum Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
Masters Degree Desirable
