Summary

We're recruiting in Dumbarton!! We have some great opportunities for creative and enthusiastic, person-centred individuals to join our fabulous #TeamWestDunCS as Support Practitioners. We have full and part-time contracts available along with relief opportunities if you are looking for something a bit more flexible.

You don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us, we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and SSSC yearly registration fees too!

The Role

You'll become part of one of our fun, friendly and dedicated teams who provide support individuals with various support needs within their own homes. There's never a dull moment, every day is different!

As a Support Practitioner, you'll support and assist the people we support with all aspects of daily living, including cooking and preparing meals, personal care, administering medication and managing personal finances. We're also looking for you to be enthusiastic and creative when supporting with their hobbies which include karaoke, arts and crafts, live music, going for walks and to the shops along with many more activities. The people we support also enjoy going swimming so being a confident swimmer is beneficial but not essential.
What we'll need you to bring;

Good communication skills
A caring attitude
A positive approach to learning
An understanding of the importance of routines and following guidelines
Confidence in the use of computers

Many of the people we support have their own mobility cars which they enjoy getting out in often, having a full UK driving licence would be beneficial but not essential for this role.
Shift Patterns

We provide tailored support across our Community Support services, with shift patterns falling between the hours of 8am until 6pm and will include mornings, days, evenings, weekends and public holidays. There may be times that hours will fall out with these times due to activities and events.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
