Location: North East of England. This is a field-based role responding to all allocated security incidents in the North East of England geographical regions with occasional National travel. Our security operation runs across 24/7 hours therefore, the successful candidate should live in the North East, and hold a full valid UK Driving Licence.
Because this role requires you to travel, Royal Mail will pay a £1,500 annual car allowance if you elect an electric car from our salary sacrifice car scheme.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as a Security Field & First Response Manager. Reporting to the Lead Field Security Manager you will play a crucial role in promoting and delivering security strategies and policies throughout the business.

About the role
You’ll be primary responder and investigator to incidents of external crime. Responsible for assessing, minimising risks, resolving issues, conducting loss enquiry investigations, and providing advice on physical security and business security policies and standards and ensure all lines of enquiry are exhausted.
You'll lead as Police liaison in relation to external crime to support both employees and the business.
Ensure that all security risks (incidents, cases & projects) are investigated, providing documented evidence and reports, to provide effective and swift solutions to manage that risk, maintain brand reputation and customer trust, including financial loss and compensation recoveries.
To identify, manage and consult with internal and external customers, stakeholder, and all security risks within areas of their responsibility.
Deliver projects where appropriate to identify loss reduction, recovery of business unit revenue and risk reduction measures.
About You
To truly excel in the role, you will be able to demonstrate the necessary skills, qualification and experience listed below:
Experience
Previous criminal investigation experience gained from in a law enforcement, protective service agency, security within a large complex organisation or private sector/corporate security company.
Significant and relevant security experience across all elements of this role: loss / crime reduction experience, physical assets, workforce protection, assessing and minimising risks, resolving issues, conducting loss enquiry investigations, and providing advice on physical security and business security policies and standards.
Proven experience of delivering timely, cost-effective investigative outcomes, with the capability to undertake tasked actions and to support the identification, reduction, and prevention of current and emerging risks to the business.
Strong stakeholder exprience at all levels , internal and external customers.
Skills & Qualifications
Compliance Modules in Anti-Bribery Training, Competition Law, Postal Regulation & Sanctions.
Wholesale and Retail USPA5 Training.
Accredited qualification in Security Management.
Accredited PIP / Investigations
- “Skills for Justice”.Knowledge and basic understanding of RIPA requirement and business conduct code processes.
Knowledge and deployment of “TAPA” accreditation processes.
