Summary


We have a new opportunity for a B4 Occupational Therapy assistant (OTA) post within our Milton Keynes Community mental health HUB. This is an excellent position for someone who wishes to gain experience in community mental health.

We are looking for some with an excellent interpersonal skill, passion and an ability to demonstrate reliability and commitment to team working.

The successful applicant will join the Occupational Therapy team. Duties are varied and you will work with experienced Occupational Therapists who will provide guidance and support to develop the skills required to plan and implement groups and one to one session with focus to improve and enable everyday activities for the service users.

The successful candidate will work within the Milton Keynes community Mental Health Team, alongside the Occupational Therapists as part of the MDT.

They will practice within the Community Mental Health HUB setting with an appropriate level of supervision from a qualified Occupational Therapist. The goal is to maximise service user’s quality of life, social inclusion and independence, by encouraging their skills and promoting autonomy in order to give them and their family hope for the future.

To plan, implement and review a range of activities using individual and group work approaches, under the supervision and direction of qualified occupational therapists.

To support service users to engage in care plans which have been developed in partnership with the individual and that reflect ‘recovery goals’.
