As an ALS Student Mentor, you will support a wide range of students from pre-entry stage to final transition in to Higher Education, employment or Supported Employment. Support will be delivered at Year 10 Annual Reviewes and Year 11 Transition Reviews at local feeder schools. Your role will be to identify, assess and provide pastoral intervention to a caseload of students. You will also be required to make informed referrals. A highlighted part of your role will be to support recruitment and retention to support the college as a whole on its improvement journey to reduce the number of students considered to be 'at risk' of becoming NEET.
To apply for this role, you will need to be a quick-thinker who can make excellent decisions and judgements in an environment of pressure. You will also need expeirence and knowledge of Further Education or Sixth Form environments, working with students with a range of LDD including SpLD, ADHD, medical, sensory and physical impairments.
