Summary

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Cable Crimping Machine Operator to join our electronics and electrical engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Komax crimping machines, ensuring that high-quality electrical harnesses and components are produced efficiently and to specification.

The cabling systems encompass various engineering sectors including the automotive and defence markets.

Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4.30pm (Friday finish at 1.30pm)

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate Komax crimping machines according to production specifications.
- Load and unload materials, such as wires and terminals, into the machine.
- Adjust machine settings to accommodate different wire types, terminal sizes, and crimping requirements.
- Monitor the machine during operation to ensure consistent and accurate crimping.

Quality Assurance:
- Conduct first-piece inspection and continuous in-process inspections to ensure crimp quality meets industry standards
- Perform pull tests and other quality checks to verify crimp integrity and connection reliability.
- Identify and correct any issues related to crimping, such as misalignment or incomplete crimps
- Perform routine maintenance on crimping machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement as necessary.

Requirements:

• Desirable (not essential) experience operating Komax crimping machines or similar automated crimping equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with wire processing, including cutting, stripping, and crimping.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and crimp specifications.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Basic knowledge of electronics and electrical components is an advantage.
