Summary

A Vacancy at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity have arisen for a current Band 6 Specialist Clinical Physiologist in Respiratory or a band 5 physiologist seeking promotion.

We will also consider applications from those with significant experience of spirometry/ respiratory physiology who wish to become a respiratory physiologist.

For non-qualified applicants you will be required to complete a graduate diploma in respiratory science [date to be confirmed]. You will undertake extensive on the job training to enable you to complete your ARTP level I leading onto your level II and level III qualifications.

Training contracts will be offered as an annex 21 [training position] until you have achieved practitioner level and clinical registration, approximately 2-3 years.

Applicants applying for the training position must have a 1st, or 2:1 undergraduate honour degree or an integrated master’s degree in a pure or applied science subject relevant to the specialism, a healthcare subject, or equivalent (2:2 by exception and with agreement from HEI) – degrees should include human anatomy and physiology, and research skills.

The ideal candidate will be joining a dedicated band of Clinical Physiologists who perform a wide range of cardiac and respiratory investigations.

Candidates must have BSc in Clinical Physiology / Healthcare Science and work towards / already have RCCP status.

To assist in the successful running of Cardio-Respiratory services here at RLH. You will be directly responsible for the performing and interpretation of highly technical investigations.

You will be responsible for performing high accuracy in:
• Full pulmonary function testing
• Hypertonic
• Bronchial challenges
• CPETs

Future opportunities to achieve specialist training will be considered.
