General Overview: A Client facing role to manage an onsite engineering team and dedicated specialist sub-contractors..

We are looking for an experienced electrical biased M&E Supervisor ideally with a minimum experience of 3 years in a similar management role to be based full time at this high-profile government location. The candidate must have a proven background in leading an engineering team, to deliver planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring the client's estate remains statutory compliant.



Reporting to the Hard Services Mangaer - HP, the M&E Supervisor will be required to demonstrate an understanding on the needs and demands of a large and Historic & Listed Estate.



The M&E Supervisor will provide technical and objective direction to the onsite team, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are achieved. As the successful candidate, you will develop and foster positive relationships with all front-line teams and management to confirm safe ways of working and drive engagement and cooperation to H&S Policy, and Statutory Compliance. The M&E Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and management, of engineering excellence, QSHE Policies, Assets, resources, processes and systems to delivering beyond best in class measurable performance.



Primary Responsibilities

-Leading your teams Operational, Maintenance and Engineering activities, to ensure the necessary work (both planned and reactive) is identified, costed, planned and executed in a safe and timely manner.

-Undertaking reviews of site technical documents utilising sound engineering concepts and technical expertise to validate compliance with contract obligations, legal and Mitie's Integrated Management System (IMS) and improve the quality-of-service delivery, its efficiency and productivity.

-Overseeing planned and unplanned maintenance activities to ensure Client SLA's / KPI's for PPM and Reactive works are achieved or bettered.

-Ensure support, and where required take responsibility for the maintenance of accurate plant records, information and reporting systems. Undertake periodic and regular auditing of records to ensure system robustness and audit readiness.

-Ensure support and contribute to the development of the forward maintenance regime and lifecycle planning, ensuring these are up to date and regularly reviewed.

-Demonstrate a consistent level of professionalism, effective timely communication and professional relationship management always.

-Able to respond to emergency incidents and lead the subsequent investigation to establish root cause, reporting both internally and to the Client.

-Develop and implement plans in which maintenance services to the client are improved to maximise value, minimise cost, risk and downtime, whilst delivering the desired consistent quality of service.

-Ensure your team deliver high quality customer service.

-Assess, review, mitigate and manage Engineering and/ or Business risk, whether operational, financial or reputational.

-Ensure Technical Team Management Resilience is in place, by providing annual leave/ absence cover for peers and colleagues.

-If required, provide Technical Managerial support for evening/ weekend planned/ unplanned maintenance activities.

-If required, provide Technical Managerial support as an Escalation Point for call-out queries, to ensure we maintain business continuity.

-Undertake Authorised Person and Responsible Person roles as necessary.

-Ensure all on-going staff training needs are met. To include but not be limited to H&S and Technical training requirements.

-Meet regularly with staff, peers and Line Management to ensure relevant communications & instructions are maintained.

Core Competencies & Experience



Essential

-An appropriate level of experience in a similar role

-High level understanding of Building Mechanical & Electrical services & systems and understanding of all prevailing standards and initiatives to promoting a safe, Compliant and efficient workplace

-Electrical Engineering background qualified in electrical installations to BS7671 wiring regulations

-Good knowledge of estates maintenance, key process, key risk and key controls.

-Strong Team Leader with efficient written and oral communication skills.

-Able to manage a team of Supervisors, Engineers and Specialist Subcontractors.

-Experienced in Asset Management and SFG20 Industry Standards.

-Knowledge & experience of managing the risks associated with the Control of Asbestos and Legionella L8 Regulations.

-Proactive and flexible attitude to work and ability to enthuse, engage with and develop team members.

-Able to represent Mitie effectively at all levels and both internal and external meetings.

-Strong customer focus skills and attitude.

-Knowledge of current legislation and mandatory standards relating to safe working practices.

-Technically qualified in appropriate engineering disciplines and willing to undertake, or work towards suitable nominated appointments, such as: RP, AE/ AP etc.

Qualifications

Minimum and Essential

· Engineering/ Trade background.

· Engineering Qualification, such as or equivalent to:

· ONC

· HNC

· HND

· Or qualified to NVQ Level 3
