Job Description:
Neway Recruitment is seeking two highly experienced and motivated Children’s Social Care Managers to join Knowsley Borough Council on a long-term project. These roles will be pivotal in developing good practice within social work teams, providing dedicated time to focus on service-level improvements and supporting practitioners in line with Ofsted’s outstanding standards. This is an exciting opportunity for seasoned social work professionals to drive transformative change across the Children’s Social Care service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and guide social work teams to ensure consistent application of practice standards.
Drive and implement quality assurance initiatives to improve outcomes for children, care leavers, and families.
Analyse and respond to audit findings, ensuring learning is integrated into practice.
Support the development of a child-centred system, focusing on consistent thresholds for decision-making and robust safeguarding processes.
Collaborate with team managers to prepare for inspections and ensure that best practices are followed.
Manage complex cases and ensure that caseloads remain manageable for social workers.
Provide leadership and support in change management, including process streamlining and innovation.
Ensure that practitioners are well-supported, and foster a strong learning culture within the team.
Conduct audits, track the impact of improvement initiatives, and stay up-to-date with evolving regulations and best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
At least 5 years of experience as a child and family social worker, with a proven track record in staff development and leadership.
Strong knowledge of quality assurance frameworks, safeguarding reviews, and change management strategies.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide social work teams through transformations.
Experience in preparing for and supporting Ofsted inspections.
Commitment to improving outcomes for children and families through high-quality social work practices.
