Summary
A main contractor is recruiting a Section Engineer for a specialist project in Plymouth constructing a new dock. The business is a multi-discipline company with projects upwards of £500m across several divisions including highways, building and rail however they also have a secure flow of work from frameworks for local authorities, National Highways, water companies and the Environment Agency.
Section Engineer duties include:
- Managing junior members of the team on a day-to-day basis
- Direct gangs and subcontractors to achieve maximum output/efficiency
- Quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
- Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
- Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
- Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
- Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
- Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
The successful candidate will join a long term contract assignment.
