Summary
The role brings together our frontline recruitment, first line customer queries, payroll, HR policy, casework services and supporting systems teams under one remit. The priority is to ensure that we embed a customer service ethos across the team and that our processes and operations are streamlined and centred around the end user of that service. The role is also responsible for ensuring HR maximises the use of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and engages key stakeholders across the department to lay the groundwork for future shared services plans.
You will lead a large team based across Leeds and London in delivering joined-up services that ensure our customers are at the heart of our approach
As a member of the HR senior leadership, you will work within a small, collaborative team of five senior civil servants in leading the HR Function.
As Deputy Director, HR Operations your main responsibility will include:
- Leadership of an extensive and diverse HR operations and systems expert services portfolio for DHSC, with responsibility of a substantial team and a budget of approx. £2.5 million.
- Delivery of HR policy, operations, payroll, casework, and recruitment services, ensuring that our approach is integrated and customer focused.
- Using customer feedback and measurable progress against KPIs to deliver ongoing continuous improvement and transformation of
services. - Ensuring that our HR systems are stable and serve the needs of our policies, processes and people, as well as future proofing our HR systems strategy to align with wider departmental and government shared services drivers.
- Ensuring that our outsourced contracts are delivering to the right service levels and are value for money.
- Ensuring that strong, meaningful relationships are built with our ALB and Executive Agency counterparts.
- Collective leadership and management of the HR Function as part of the HR senior leadership team, supporting cross-team working, development and wellbeing.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships and working practices across HR but particularly with the HR Business Partnering team, ensuring a joined up and seamless service for our customers.
