Summary


East London CAMHS Alternative to Admissions Pathway have recently been successful in securing funding to enable to provision of a Specialist DBT-A service pilot. The pilot is initially funded for 12 months, however with strong clinical evidence of effectiveness there is opportunity to extend this funding substantively. We seek to recruit a team of dedicated professionals who will be expected to join a team based training in October 2024 to enable mobilization of the service in early 2025.

The East London CAMHS DBT Service will provide high intensity, effective; evidence-based psychological treatment for adolescents with traits and/or diagnosis of an (emerging) Borderline Personality Disorder, including self-harm and suicidality.

The successful candidate will have a qualification in an appropriate mental health profession such as Nursing, Systemic Psychotherapy, Clinical/ Educational Psychology, Child Psychotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Social Work, with up to date registration.

Please note that the successful candidate for this position will be required to attend a two-day course titled "Advanced Clinical Skills in DBT: Skills for DBT Team Leaders to Promote Team Adherence," scheduled for October 10-11, 2024. The course will be conducted via Zoom. You will be compensated for the two days of training or can opt to take the time back as TOIL at a later date.
• Working autonomously within professional guidelines to undertake specialist assessments and systematically provide a highly specialised evidence-based therapy (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) to users of community-based mental health teams who are experiencing complex emotional needs associated with an emerging or diagnosis of moderate to severe ‘personality disorder’ and cope by engaging in suicidal and self-harming behaviour.
• Supervising psychotherapeutic assessments and evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions delivered by trainees, psychological therapists and clinical members of community based mental health teams who provide psychologically based care and treatment to people with complex emotional needs.

· To provide inspirational operational and clinical leadership of disciplinary clinicians in the team to ensure young people experiencing serious mental illness have access to evidence-based assessments and treatment



· To support the shaping and development of Service and Trust strategy and support the delivery of CAMHS priorities and objectives through an effective operational multidisciplinary management model.



To ensurethe team has strong and effective links with other relevant servicesacrossthelocalities, including representing the service on appropriate multiagency groups, communicating highly complex information and contributing to the overall development of services.
