The Opportunity:

We are looking for a new Director of the Lothian Equal Access Programme for Schools (LEAPS) to provide strategic leadership and management for the development and delivery of the LEAPS programme, consistent with the priorities identified by the LEAPS partnership.

LEAPS is a successful and unique widening participation programme, funded by its higher education and local council partners as well as the Scottish Funding Council to increase progression to higher education in South East Scotland. LEAPS is also supported by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and delivers the Scottish Funding Council’s (SFC) Schools for Higher Education Programme (SHEP) in South East Scotland, as part of the National Schools Programme.

LEAPS is hosted by the University of Edinburgh.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Significant experience of successfully leading partnership projects or services, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
Evidence of financial management of project and team budgets
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to motivate, negotiate, influence and build effective working relationships
with stakeholders
Demonstrable commitment to and understanding of the principles of widening access and social mobility
