Summary

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking skilled and experienced professionals for the following roles: Plumbing Instructor, Mechanics Instructor, and Carpentry Instructor to join SEMH College in SE25.

You will be joining a specialist educational college supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We are also open to interviewing Design & Technology teachers with similar expertise and relevant SEMH experience. Join the SEN College and make a lasting impact on students who thrive in a hands-on and supportive learning environment.
- Plumbing Instructor

We are looking for a qualified Plumbing Instructor to deliver engaging and practical lessons in plumbing, including pipework, installations, and system maintenance. You will be responsible for teaching students the fundamental skills needed for a career in plumbing while adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles. Experience working with SEMH students is essential, as is the ability to provide a nurturing and structured environment. C&G experience is welcomed.
- Mechanics Instructor

As a Mechanics Instructor, you will lead classes focused on motor vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics. The ideal candidate will be familiar with a range of mechanical systems and able to impart knowledge clearly and patiently. SEMH experience is critical, as you will be required to manage students with unique emotional and behavioural needs, ensuring they feel supported and encouraged in their learning. C&G experience is welcomed.
- Carpentry Instructor

We are seeking a Carpentry Instructor to teach core woodworking skills, including joinery, construction, and design. You will plan and deliver lessons that build practical skills and boost confidence in students, preparing them for potential careers in the carpentry trade. A background in working with SEMH students is necessary to create a positive and motivating learning atmosphere tailored to individual needs.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applications from experienced Design & Technology teachers with a strong background in one or more of the above disciplines. Candidates must have proven SEMH experience in a similar school setting and the ability to deliver a curriculum that is both practical and sensitive to the needs of our students. You must have a DBS on the update service and the right to work in the UK.
